Characteristics of the peristaltic volumetric pumps
Primary operation is based on the pressure of rotating rollers which, progressively crushing a rubber hose, cause the product to be pushed toward the outlet.
Delivery of the product is generated by the alternated compression and relaxing of the hose.
The advantages of peristaltic pumps stem from the ability to operate preventing oxidation, emulsion, crushing of parts of the product, maltreatment or shaking, therefore excellent in food or cosmetic fields.
They can operate dry for indefinite amounts of time, ensuring maximum product dosage accuracy. They are quick to service with extremely reduced machine down times. The peristaltic pump is based on a principle which is the human body: the contraction and relaxing motion of the muscles in the digestive tract. In fact, inside the pump there is a high resistance operating hose that is completely compressed in a strategic section by two rollers on bearings offset by 180°. During the interval between the two rollers, the hose reacquires its original geometry, creating a vacuum that sucks and transports the fluid being treated.
The volume moved is proportional to the useful displacement and the speed of rotation. It is therefore simple to dose the desired product quantity in a fixed or variable way, depending on whether you opt for a fixed or variable speed configuration by means of reducer, variator or inverter.

For viscous, corrosive and food liquids at low pressure.
Patented self-priming peristaltic and reversible pump made in plastic material with rotor shaft coupled to unified gear reduction unit and electric motor. In order to achieve variable dose flow rates, the pump can be equipped with a mechanical variator, force-ventilated motor and separate inverter or an integrated motor and inverter.
The big advantage of this pump is that, compared with other volumetric pumps, it can operate dry without suffering any damage. Replacement of the operating hose, the only routine maintenance operation required, is simple and quick, causing maximum machine down time of 20 minutes.
Thanks to the rotor with 3 guide rollers and 3 pressing rollers, the pulsation of the flow rate, typical of these pumps, is significantly dampened. The operating hose allows food and chemical use for dosage of diluted acids and bases.
MATERIALS
Volute, rotating axis, pressing and guide rollers in high density Nylon, shaft in AISI 420, operating hose in FDA food compliant polypropylene-based thermoplastic elastomer. The pump has no mechanical seal systems.
APPLICATIONS
Transfer and dosage of viscous, acid or food fluids up to 80°C that do not contain abrasive particles. Maximum pressure 2.5 Bar and maximum flow rates over 20 m3/h.

There are numerous accessories available and they allow the product to be personalised based on the customer’s needs: Pulsation dampener, adjustable automatic safety by-pass, manual by-pass, steel transport cart, manual phase inverter.
For the food and pharmaceutical sector, the outlets are supplied in solid AISI 316L and both the frame and any transport cart can be made in AISI 316 with Nylon wheels.
